PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a one-way clutch that can instantly and only visually determine whether or not a holder is normally built in the clutch in building the holder into it, can exhibit stability of a fixing torque of the holder, can move integrally with an outer ring, and has extremely high assembling workability. SOLUTION: This one-way clutch comprises sprags 7 disposed with a circumferentially constant interval, an outer holder 6 for holding the outside part of the sprags, an inner holder 8 for holding the inside part of the sprags, and an annular ribbon spring 9 for energizing the sprags 7 circumferentially in one direction. The outer holder 6 is formed of synthetic resin material, and its both sides have an annular part 6a, columnar parts 6b interconnected with a circumferentially constant interval, and a pocket 6c for holding the sprags. The side surface 6d of one of annular parts on the both sides of the outer holder 6 has projecting and recessed parts for contacting with side surface of an adjacent member to provide a fastening allowance.
