PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight shaft support structure superior in strength and rigidity. SOLUTION: This shaft support structure having a long shell having an inside surface for determining the hollow inside and a plurality of reinforcing ribs of a plastic material placed in the hollow inside of the shell is explained. At least a part of the reinforcing ribs is put in the relationship of abutting to the inside surface of the shell. The reinforcing ribs determine a lengthwise directional passage passing through the long shell for receiving and supporting a rotatable shaft. The reinforcing ribs are fixedly installed in the long shell.
