PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium processing device capable of increasing the accommodation capacity for receipt sheets by arranging so that a receipt take-in part can take in a new receipt sheet even if the taken-in receipt sheet touches a take-in roller. SOLUTION: If any customer has left a receipt sheet 6, a motor 41 is rotated reversely to transport the sheet 6 to a receipt take-in part 5. Reverse rotation of the motor 41 causes the take-in roller 34 to rotate to result in taking-in of the receipt sheet 6 in a stacking part 37. The take-in roller 34 is furnished on its shaft with a one-way clutch so that the take-in roller 34 remains out of rotation when the motor 41 rotates in the regular direction. Accordingly a new receipt sheet 6 can be taken in even if stacked sheets 6 are touching the take-in roller 34.
