PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low cost band pass filter by employing a sapphire R- plane substrate so as to have a steep skirt characteristic. SOLUTION: The filter circuit comprising a plurality of resonance elements and a ground conductor formed on a sapphire R-plane is characterized in that it includes at least one rectangular resonance element of a J-letter-shape or with an opening.
