PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide image processing method and apparatus for arranging each color in a reference RGB color space in uniform color spaces, etc., and allocating aγvalue at which a variance value among arranged colors become minimum to the reference RGB color space. SOLUTION: These image processing method and device for deciding theγvalue of an RGB color space with respect to the RGB color space defined by a coefficient of a chromaticity point and processing the RGB color space, plot colors of the RGB color space in accordance with respectiveγvalues within a prescribed range to a uniform color space (S31), calculate a mean value of color difference among plotted colors and its variance value (S32) and search for aγvalue at which the calculated variance value becomes minimum (S33). Theγvalue searched in this way is allocated to aγvalue in the RGB color space (S34).
