PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming such a photocatalyst-containing coating film having a catalytic activity in the visible radiation range as is capable of forming with a good reproducibility a coating film excellent in the characteristics such as adhesion, transparency, photocatalyst performance. SOLUTION: The photocatalyst-containing coating film and the method for forming the same are characterized by comprising a step of preparing respectively liquid A containing a photocatalyst of fine particles of a perovskite-type oxide which is expressed by the general formula (I): A<2+> B<4+> 1-x C<3+> x O3-δ(wherein 0<x<=0.5 and 0<δ<0.5) and which is capable of holding the dissolution of hydrogen as a hydrogen ion via a hole formed by doping an acceptor and liquid B which dissolves in a solvent at least one kind of compound selected from the group consisting of a methyl group- containing organomonosilane and a methyl group-containing organosilane oligomer, a step of mixing the above liquid A and the above liquid B to thereby prepare a photocatalyst coating material composition, a step of thereafter coating the above photocatalyst coating material composition on a substrate within a short time, and a step of drying and curing it.
