PURPOSE: To provide an internal combustion engine control system for a vehicle which drives an auxiliary machine using a starter motor serving also as a generator while an internal combustion engine stops, starts the internal combustion engine smoothly, and regenerates energy efficiently while the internal combustion engine operates. CONSTITUTION: In this internal combustion engine control system for the vehicle, an output of the starter motor 4 serving also as the generator is transmitted to the internal combustion engine 1 when starting the internal combustion engine 1, an output of the internal combustion engine 1 is transmitted to the auxiliary machines 5, 6, 7 while the internal combustion engine 1 operates, and an output of the starter motor 4 is transmitted to the auxiliary machines 5, 6, 7 when the internal combustion engine 1 performs predetermined stop. This system is provided with a gear shift mechanism 20 which transmits the rotation of the starter motor 4 to the internal combustion engine 1 by a first change gear ratio which is large change gear ratio to use the starter motor 4 as the generator while the internal combustion engine 1 operates and transmits the rotation of the internal combustion engine 1 to the starter motor 4 by a second change gear ratio which is small change gear ratio. |
