PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically carry out calibration, using the actual valve of the measured voltage values of battery current and voltage in soft loop feedback method through digital control of a CPU and the read value which the CPU reads this actual value. SOLUTION: When the charging/discharging of batteries (or tools) 40 is controlled by soft loop feedback method through digital control of CPU 11 for charging/discharging power supply, the battery current or voltage is measured with a measuring instrument (digital multimeter) 30. Actual value y measured is read in a CPU 51 for calibration. At the same time, a conversion value x obtained by subjecting an actual value y to digital conversion is read into a CPU 11 for charging/discharging power supply. Thereafter, the conversion value x is transmitted to the CPU 51 for calibration. At the CPU 51 for calibration, slope a and offset value b in a primary line straight line y=ax+b, based on the actual value y and the conversion value x are computed, and both the values a and b are stored as calibration values in the CPU 11 for charging/ discharging power supply.
