PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binoculars with photographing function which is provided with photographic optical systems, an imaging means and control means for electronically controlling the imaging means and is constructed so as to be able to surely avert an improvident operation of the power source switch of the control means. SOLUTION: The binoculars with photographing function is furnished with a pair of viewing optical systems (12R and 12L), the photographic optical systems (68 and 70), the imaging means 74 combined therein, control means (72, 82 and 84) for electronically controlling the imaging means, and power source switching means (98 and 99) for controlling the power feed to the control means, and the distance between the optical axes of a pair of the viewing optical systems is made variable for the purpose of adjusting the width between the eyes. When the distance between the optical axes of the viewing optical systems is set at the minimum value, the power source switching means are turned to an off state and the power feed to the control means is stopped. When the distance between the optical axes of the viewing optical systems is widened from the minimum value, the power source switching means shift from the off state to the on state and the power feed to the control means is started.
