PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a thin coated optical fiber for an optical fiber ribbon by which primary coated optical fibers are integrated with a little adhesive resin and coated optical fiber separation is facilitated, and to provide an apparatus for the same. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the coated optical fiber for the optical fiber ribbon 1, a plurality of primary coated optical fibers 2 are closely arranged in a line while making them run, and integrated in the shape of a tape by applying the adhesive resin. In this method, an energy beam curing type resin 3 is applied to the flat surface side in the alignment of at least one of the primary coated optical fibers 2 by discharging it from a cylindrical nozzle 10 with a thin tip part, then the energy beam curing type resin 3 is cured to bond and integrate the primary coated optical fibers 2.
