SOLUTION: In a portable moving image recording and reproducing system composed of the portable recording and reproducing device 202 capable of recording the moving images in a detachable recording medium 201 and reproducing them and a cradle 203 connected to the portable recording and reproducing device 202 for inputting images and supplying power, the cradle and the portable recording and reproducing device are both provided with IDs (207, 209), and even when one is lost, the other is used.
