PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing filter and a method of manufacturing the same for manufacturing a polarizing filter more easily and at a lower cost than conventional methods. SOLUTION: The polarizing filter comprises a plurality of rib-like portions formed by rubbing a solid substrate with a polymer material and a metal film attached to the spaces between the rib-like portions.
