PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus, a method for configuring network including the information processing apparatus, a program for the network configuration method, and a computer-readable recording medium for storing the program. SOLUTION: This invention provides the network configuration method for interconnecting information processing apparatuses and includes: a step of connecting the information processing apparatus to the network; a step of transmitting an IP address request through the network; a step of receiving an IP address notice from the information processing apparatus to which the IP address is assigned; a step of setting an assignable IP address by using the received IP address notice; and a step of setting the IP address notice mode to the information processing apparatus after the IP address setting.
