PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide determination materials on signals from an electric lamp line to a user before the user connects a device such as an adaptor including a modem section to a house electric appliance or the like. SOLUTION: A reception section has: electric wires for a power supply to supply its power; a signal amplifier section to which the electric wires are connected; an analog/digital converter section connected to the signal amplifier section; a modulation section for demodulating a signal; an error detection section for detecting an error of demodulated data; and a level display section for displaying an output from the analog/digital converter section or a downstream part of the analog/digital converter section.
