PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document retrieving device, a document retrieving method, a recording medium and a program capable of obtaining a relevant word of a keyword without using thesaurus or searching it from all of words in an adequate document, and improving the retrieving accuracy. SOLUTION: This document retrieving device comprises a document storing part 160 for storing a plurality of hypertext documents, a keyword input part 110 for inputting a first keyword, a relevant word selecting part 130 for selecting a word relating to the first keyword, a keyword creating part 140 for creating a second keyword on the basis of the word selected by the relevant word selecting part 130 and the first keyword, and a document ranking part 120 for selecting a document fitted to the second keyword from the documents stored in the document storing part 160, and ranking them.
