PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous coating system which enables the continuous feed of a photosensitive coating liquid to obtain a photoreceptor of high quality without coating irregularities, in the manufacture of a drum-type photoreceptor. SOLUTION: The coating system comprises a drum soaking tank for soaking the drum in the photosensitive coating liquid, a coating liquid circulation tank for supplying the coating liquid to the soaking tank which supplies/receives and circulates the coating liquid overflowing with the soaking of the drum and has functions such as of stirring, liquid level sensing, temperature adjustment and viscosity adjustment, a solvent tank for supplying a solvent for viscosity adjustment to the circulation tank, a liquid replenishment for replenishing the coating liquid to the circulation tank. The continuous coating system is operated using the coating device as follows: In carrying out the continuous operation of the step of capturing the drum, the step of soaking the drum in the coating liquid, the step of lifting the drum out of the coating liquid and the step of treating the internal face of the drum as a single cycle, a liquid feeding command is initiated after sensing the height of the liquid level as soon as the liquid level of the coating liquid is best stabilized in the circulation tank. On the other hand, the liquid feeding operation is started after ending the coating of the drum under control and at the same time, the liquid amount and viscosity of the coating liquid in the soaking tank are adjusted within the tolerance limits.
