PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an in-building air contaminant adsorbent capable of adsorbing and removing the contaminants such as VOC mainly causing a sick house syndrome by reusing aluminum sludge discarded in the process of treating an aluminium alloy material. SOLUTION: The adsorbent is obtained by the steps of; neutralizing aluminum-containing liquid wastes, dehydrating the sludge flocculated by a high molecular flocculating agent, mixing water-repellent imparting agent into the obtained sludge in a gel state, drying and solidifying the mixture, then crushing and sizing the same, thus obtaining a granular porous molded object.
