<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pipe joint in which a water stop packing does not come out of groove while a pipe body is inserted, a compressedly deformed amount of the water stop packing is not larger after crimping, and water is not leaked while repeating cold and hot cycles. <P>SOLUTION: The pipe joint 1 comprises a metal nipple 2 connecting a pipe body protruding from one face of the joint body 1, and a metal sheet core 3 arranged along an outer periphery of the nipple 2 for connecting a pipe body. An end of a pipe body 4 is inserted between the nipple 2 for connecting a pipe body and the sheet core 3, and the nipple 2 for connecting a pipe body and the pipe body 4 are fixedly connected with each other by means of shrinking diameter by compressing the outer periphery of the sheet core 3 with a compressing jig 5. A recessed groove 21 is provided on the outer periphery of the nipple 2 along a peripheral direction. A water stop packing 22 firmly fitting on an inner periphery of the pipe body 4 is installed in the recessed groove 21. At least one ridge among projected ridges 51 of the compressing jig 5, in which at least one ridge or more of the projected ridges 51 are provided on a contact face of the sheet core 3 for a compression ring of the compressing jig 5 along a peripheral direction of the compression ring, is arranged to face the recessed groove 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
