FIELD: machine engineering, possibly precision machine tools, development of machine tools with controllable interference in bearing assemblies of spindle. ^ SUBSTANCE: spindle includes housing, stator with winding, shaft-rotor, front and rear support units of shaft-rotor having radial thrust bearing ball bearing assemblies, rigid and elastic members deigned for creating preliminary axial interference. Winding of stator is shifted in axial direction relative to shaft-rotor to side of its bearing assembly. ^ EFFECT: improved design providing high rigidity, increased useful life period of spindle due to creating desired interference of radial thrust bearings at operation of spindle. ^ 2 cl, 2 dwg
