This system pertains to an information processing system that uses a server and processes and outputs to a local terminal a file that cannot be processed by a communications terminal. The information processing system includes a communications terminal and a server. Said communications terminal comprises: a read unit that reads files; a determination unit that determines whether or not the local terminal has an application for processing a read file; a request unit that requests a server connected via a wireless communications network to provide output data for outputting to a user, using the local terminal, said data having the same content as the file that could not be processed and for which the determination was made that the local terminal does not have an application; a reception unit that receives the output data from the server; and an output unit that outputs to the user on the basis of the received output data. Said server comprises: an execution unit that executes an application for processing the file that could not be processed, in accordance with the request; and a transmission unit that transmits the application execution results as the output data, to a reception means. |
