摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vanish composition that imparts excellent viscoelasticity, fluidity and emulsification suitability to a lithographic offset printing ink and that is good in dispersion of carbon black and imparts emulsification suitability adequate to ink used in a lithographic offset printing machine for a newspaper. <P>SOLUTION: A silane coupling agent is used as a means for gelling a vanish comprising a drying oil, a phenolic resin, a rosin-modified phenolic resin, a modified alkyd resin or a petroleum resin. The process for gelling the vanish with use of the silane coupling agent comprises heating and dissolving a resin, fats and oils, a solvent or the like in the usual manner to prepare a varnish and adding to the varnish the silane coupling agent and stirring to gel the varnish. The adjustment and the control of the degree of the gelation of the varnish are conducted by measuring the viscosity with use of a falling ball viscometer or the like as in the case with the cooking of an ordinary varnish. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p>
