<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform automatic travel expected by a driver from high speed travel to stop without canceling ACC by providing a long distance radar and a short distance sensor whereby an obstacle in a short distance can be recognized in a wide range, and to perform ACC travel without the sense of incongruity especially during a traffic jam. <P>SOLUTION: The long distance radar and the sort distance sensor capable of detecting an object in a wider range in a horizontal direction compared to the long distance radar are combined so that ACC travel during a traffic jam is made possible. The short distance sensor is added, and thereby a dead angle of obstacle detection by the long distance radar is reduced and detection accuracy is improved.
