GENE EXPRESSION STATE ESTIMATION SYSTEM, METHOD, PROGRAM, AND STORAGE MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate the probability of the expression of a gene for every channel by separating a true signal for the expression state of the gene from a measurement error in order to enhance the precision and efficiency of an analysis using microarray data.

SOLUTION: The gene expression state estimation system comprises an input device 1 for inputting microarray data, a data analyzer 2 operated by program control, and an output device 3. The data analyzer 2 comprises parameter estimation means 21 and 22 for estimating a distribution parameter and a mixing ratio parameter for every component of mixed normal distribution by use of gene expression intensity data given from the input device 1 and a posterior probability calculation means 23 for calculating posterior probability for the expression state of gene for every channel by use of each estimated parameter. The calculated posterior probability is outputted to the output device 3.
