A transmission screen, a screen member for the transmission screen, and a rear projector are provided to allow the transmission screen to have an excellent view angle characteristic and a light utilization efficiency. A screen member(1) for a transmission screen includes a lens substrate(3). The lens substrate(3) includes a light incident face and a light emission face. The light incident face includes a plurality of lenses for focusing an incident light. The light emission face is opposed to the light incident face. A light shielding layer(4) is formed on the light emission face of the lens substrate(3). The light shielding layer(4) includes a plurality of openings formed on light paths of light transmitted by a lens part(32) of the lens substrate(3).
