<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for reducing chemical oxygen demand, biological oxygen demand, and total nitrogen in leachate from a controlled landfill site to general effluent standards; to provide a means for decomposing endocrine disrupting chemicals (commonly-called environmental hormones) as represented by nonylphenol. <P>SOLUTION: A treatment method for leachate from an industrial waste disposal plant executes a biological treatment after the leachate discharged from the industrial waste disposal plant is electrolyzed using a conductive diamond electrode as an anode and then diluted with water and subjected to pH adjustment according to demand. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
