摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multivalued semiconductor memory device for storing multivalued data of three valued data or more by using a nonvolatile memory device for storing the binary data.

SOLUTION: Continuous 16-bit data (LW and UW) from the outside are identified by using an external address bit AA[2], and a storing block is selected by using an external address bit AA[23]. Higher-order word data LW and lower-order word data UW are reduced to 8-bit byte data and stored in a memory cell array 10.
