<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To convey an electronic component over a wide range in an arbitrary section and to enhance the conveying efficiency of a component mounter sharply. <P>SOLUTION: Each of a plurality of rotary heads 7 provided in a head unit 6 comprises a turret 15 (nozzle attaching block) rotatable about a rotational axis 15a in the vertical direction, a turret drive means 21 (nozzle attaching block drive means) for rotating the turret 15, a plurality of suction nozzles 16 provided movably on a circumferential track as the turret rotates, and a nozzle drive means 17 for elevating and lowering the suction nozzles 16 at sucking and fixing positions A1, A2 (sucking/separating position) on the circumferential track.
