PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a corrosion preventing structure for an automobile tailgate hinge, preventing the corrosion of the tailgate hinge in its curling portion. SOLUTION: The tailgate hinge has a base and an arm having a curling portion and connected thereto via a hinge pin. Herein, a gap large enough to prevent the removal of the hinge pin is formed between the end of the curling portion and the surface of the arm, and a through-hole is formed in the surface of the curling portion. Namely, the tailgate hinge has the curling portion designed in an open shape instead of a closed shape and the hole formed passing through the curling portion to solve the problem that no electrodeposition occurs on the inner surface of the curling portion and on the hinge pin and water resides with surface tension. Thus, the internal electrodeposition easily occurs on the curling portion and the water is prevented from residing, therefore preventing the corrosion in the curling portion.
