BLIND SCHEDULING APPARATUS AND METHOD IN A MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

A system and a method minimize power consumption, signalling overhead, and processing load in blind scheduling in a mobile communication system. A User Equipment (UE) detects a type of an uplink (UL) grant while it is periodically allocated the UL grant. If there is no data to transmit using the UL grant, the UE determines whether to transmit a padding Medium Access Control (MAC) Protocol Data Unit (PDU) to an Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access Network (E-UTRAN) Node B (eNB) using the UL grant according to the type of the UL grant.

1. A method of a terminal in a communication system, the method comprising:
determining a type of a resource if there is no data to transmit via the resource; and determining whether to transmit data via the resource based on the type of the resource, wherein, if the type is a first type, the first-type resource is associated with a first identifier (ID) and a second-type resource is associated with the a second ID to be used for the second-type resource, wherein an interval of the first-type resource is not configured and an interval of the second-type resource is configured based on a first message, and wherein the second ID and the interval of the second-type resource are configured based on a second message.
