At this thickness the film assumes the body temperature in medical diagnostics and the film elasticity is unaffected. The film may be blackened to be light impervious and in a frame pressed against the body, constituting a window at one end of a light-impervious cylinder including one or more U.V. sources. The cylinder may include a hole for a TV camera and be pressurized to effect a slight outward bulge of the film. In fabrication, vulcanized latex in evaporable liquid may be applied to a glass plate forming a layer preferably < 0À02 mm. thick or dissolved rubber sprayed thereon. On drying, carbon powder, e.g. graphite powder, may be applied and further rubber may be applied to embed the powder. Phosphor is applied on the surface removed from the glass. The opacity of regions lying beyond the area of surface contact with the body, improve contrast of the thermal image.</p> |
