1399655 Alkali metal-deficient offretite BRITISH PETROLEUM CO Ltd 13 March 1973 [10 April 1972] 16339/72 Heading Cl [Also in Division C5] Offretite is made by ageing, at 98‹ C. for 4 days, a mixture of (a) a solution containing sodium aluminate, sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide, (b) aqueous colloidal silica, and (c) an aqueous solution of tetramethyl ammonium chloride. The offretite, having a SiO 2 /Al 2 O 3 mole ratio of 8À15 is pelleted, calcined and refluxed with aqueous HCl to reduce its sodium and potassium contents and then exchanged with aqueous tetrammine platinous chloride and calcined. The product, having a SiO 2 /Al 2 O 3 ratio of 11À5 and containing 0À78 wt. per cent Pt is used as a catalyst for hydrorefining kerosine. |
