Warp-knit fabric for garment reinforcement has straight weft threads inserted throughout its width. The stitch-forming threads and the weft threads are single yarns of cut fibres. A layer of thermoplastics is applied on one face in spots or by dispersion. Pref. the fabric is raised. More partic., the fabric is dense enough to prevent penetration of the plastics, causing sticking to press plates during hot assembly to a garment piece, and is dimensionally stable in both directions; the fabric is more flexible and drapes better than previous construction.
