1402177 Yarn storage feeder WESCO INDUSTRIES CORP 16 Aug 1972 [28 Sept 1971 21 Dec 1971] 38275/72 Headings DIC and D1E In a yarn storage feeder the yarn is wound on the sloping bottom end 24 of a stationary drum 16 by a flier 30 and is taken off upwardly and then passed down through the centre of the drum and through a supporting tube 14 to knitting, weaving or spooling apparatus. When sufficient yarn has been built up on the drum to press a lever 52 inwardly, a switch 58, 60 opens and a magnetic clutch 46 disengages the drive to the rotating guide. A variable resistor (76, Fig. 5 not shown) may be included in the electrical circuit to delay the disengagement. In a modification a photo electric cell may monitor the quantity of yarn on the drum. In a modification for positive feeding Fig. 10 the yarn is taken off the drum through a second guide 92 rotating at the same speed as the winding-on flier 30.
|
