<p>1352976 Dyeing hair L'OREAL 17 Feb 1972 [17 Feb 1971] 7368/72 Heading D1B [Also in Division C5] A foaming composition for use or incorporation in a dyeing shampoo comprises (A) one or more cationic, amphoteric or zwitterionic surfactants containing at least one N atom bonded directly or indirectly to a C10 to C24 fatty chain, the N atom being positively charged or capable of being positively charged by the addition of an inorganic or organic acid or by quaternisation and/or containing a positively charged S atom; (B) one or moreα- alkane diols having 10 to 18 carbon atoms. The cationic surfactants may be amines, amine oxides or quaternary ammonium compounds which may contain sulphonium functional groups; they may be alkylimidazolines. Examples are provided of shampoos for dyeing hair. Example 9 contains sodium N-laurylbeta-iminodipropionate, 1, 2-dodecanediol and various dyes for application to greying chestnut hair. Example 10 contains cetyl trimethyl ammonium chloride, lauryl alcohol oxyethylenated with 12 moles ethylene oxide 1, 2-dodecanediol and various dyes to provide a pearly grey sheen on hair. Example 11 contains wherein R=alkyl derived from copra fatty acids, lauryl alcohol adduct with 12 moles ethylene oxide, copra diethanolamide, 1, 2- dodecanediol, hydrogen peroxide, ammonia, thioglycollic acid, ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid and various dyes to provide a brownchestnut shade on hair.</p> |
