1464338 Benzothiazole derivatives GOODYEAR TIRE & RUBBER CO 14 May 1975 [4 Oct 1974] 20364/75 Heading C2C 2 - (3 - Methylpiperidinothio) - benzothiazole and 2 - (4 - methylpiperidinothio) - benzothiazole are prepared by: (a) slurrying benzothiazole in water, (b) adding an oxidizing agent, specifically NaOCl, (c) adding 3- or 4-methylpiperidine respectively (or an aqueous base and a salt of the amine) and (d) allowing the mixture to react, e.g. at 20-45‹ C. The products are used as vulcanizing agents. |
