<p>1409863 Powder coating material PPG INDUSTRIES Inc 26 Jan 1973 [27 Jan 1972] 4065/73 Heading C3R A coating material in powder form comprises a heat fusible reaction product of (a) a polyester and (b) an amine-aldehyde resin. It may be prepared by heating the polyester to a molten state, adding the amine-aldehyde resin, reacting until the product has a softening point of at least 65‹ C. and cooling and pulverizing the product. The coating material may contain pigments and powdered fillers. The examples describe powder coatings derived from (a) polyesters obtained from neopentyl glycol, hydrogenated bisphenol A, isophthalic acid, trimethylolpropane, terephthalic acid and phthalic acid and (b) hexabis-(methoxymethyl) melamine and containing titanium dioxide. The powder materials may be coated on to metal panels.</p> |
