The system is for the production of articles or furniture from solid wood, and assembled from a number of components. A first component (1) is drilled with a number of blind holes, into which tubes (2) are fitted. The other components are then slid over the tubes, making them invisible. The final component fitted on the tubes can also be drilled merely with blind holes. The distance between the tubes can be between 50 and 100 cm, typically between 60 and 70 cm, and the wooden components can be secured to each other by gluing, and profiled to give a good joint.
