Connector socket contact bracket - is supported in insulated housing and has stamping with folded out section at top

The insulated housing (6) is made from a flexible plastics material with a hole in the centre used for supporting the contact bracket (1). The contact bracket has sections (3) at the top bent outwards at right angles to rest on ledges inside the housing. The bottom end of the bracket has cut out prongs (4) which are bent outwards at an angle and wedge in recesses (7) on the inside walls of the housing. The bracket is produced from a stamping and is held in the housing in a floating position.
