Shaving cloth consists of a sheet of paper or other suitable material impregnated with a solution or emulsion of a cosmetic shaving prepn. Generally the carrier material contains 0.3-3.0 cm3, esp. 0.5-2.0 cm3 of the cosmetic prepn. The cloths may be of the wet type in which the carrier impregnated with the cosmetic soln. or emulsion is packed in aluminium foil as plastics film sachets, or they may be dried before packing and wetted with water before use. The shaving cloths are quick, convenient, hygienic and easy to carry. They can be used anywhere, with or without water, and prepare the skin completely for shaving by removing grease, softening the hair of the beard, and lubricating the skin.
