<p>1515847 Cable insulation BICC Ltd 12 Sept 1975 [13 Sept 1974] 40037/74 Heading H1A A supertension cable in which the dielectric is at least partly built of tapes of a polyethylene or polypropylene layer 12 bonded to one or two paper tapes 13 and is impregnated with a fluid of 45-90% (vol.) polydiorgano-siloxamer and 55-10% (vol.) hydrocarbon oil subject to a limit of 15% (weight) naphthenic constituents of the mixture. The paper layers of the tape are <80 Ám. thick, preferably <50 Ám. in the inner part of the dielectric, which may be built in steps, and may be loaded with aluminium oxide or similar materials. Preferred fluids are polydimethylsiloxamer and alkylated benzenes, particularly dodecyl benzene.</p> |
