<p>Side, or left and right pin-cushion distortions in the raster of a cathode ray tube, for example, of a color television receiver having an in-line arrangement of its electron beams, are corrected by connecting the horizontal deflection winding of the cathode ray tube, the collector-emitter path of a transistor and the output winding of a saturable reactor, in series, to a power supply source, and by applying to the base or control electrode of the transistor and to the input winding of the saturable reactor a correction signal having a parabolic waveform of the vertical scanning rate or frequency so that correction of the side pin-cushion distortions is effected satisfactorily at all portions of the raster.</p> |
