The mechanism which aligns flat workpieces has a horizontal loading table with stops at one side at least, the workpieces being fed to the saw after alignment. The table (1) tilts on an axis (11) into an inclined position, and is moved into this position while or after the workpieces are loaded onto it, in order to align them, when the edge (17) equipped with the stops (16) is lowermost. The axis can be in the plane of the table or parallel to it, or inclined to it, and it can run obliquely to the table side, stops being also provided on a second side adjacent to the first, and which is lowermost in the tilted position. |
