<p>A washing machine incorporates a clothes dryer comprising a fan (13) which draws the air from within the casing (1) of the machine, directs it through a group of electrical resistance heating elements (11) from where the heated air passes into the interior of a rotary clothes-receiving drum (3) through arcuate flanged openings (7) therein arranged in concentric circles, and the air is then expelled to the exterior, preferably through an opening (21) in the front face of the machine frame, the wet air passing through a condenser (19) in which almost all the drawn-off water vapour is separated out and sent in its liquid state to the drain circuit (17, 24, 26) of the machine. Cylindrical projections (8, 9) direct the air from the space (10) in which it is heated into the drum (3). <IMAGE></p> |
