PURPOSE:To improve durability of radial tyres for truck and bus use, by locating an organic fibre layer so that a given relation can be satisfied and at the outside of steel chafer at which a metal cord is placed at a given angle. CONSTITUTION:Polyester cord is applied to a carcass ply 2 in layers at a carcass part of the radial tyre. All of the aforesaid ply 2 is turned up outward from the inside of a bead wire 1, or a part of the ply 2 ends at the inside or a bottom part of the bead wire 1 and the rest of the ply 2 is turned up outward from the inside of the bead wire 1. A steel chafer 2, at which a metal cord is situated at an angle of 15 deg. to 45 deg. against the circumferential direction, is located at the outside of a turned-up part 2a of the ply 2. In this case, the height H of the chafer 3 is established so that it will be 15 to 28% of an inside height IH of the tyre, and the height h of the aforesaid turned-up part 2a shall be established so that it will be lower than 85% of the aforesaid height H. |
