A pneumatic tyre as in parent patent, with its side walls concave on the outside, and with its tread in the form of an annular band of rubber with an inextensible annular reinforcement, is improved by having the edges of the tread portion overlap and hook around the periphery of each side wall, thus forming a firm interlock and protecting the side wall material from major abrasion.
