A textile fibre or thread having a low titre of between 15 and 100 denier approximately and some permanent inherent longitudinal elasticity is used to make packaging for fruit and the like e.g. by knitting. The fibre or thread can be of elastomer; in the case of a thread formed from a plurality of polyamide strands each strand is texturised to give the elasticity. The net may be knitted with a mesh dimension of about 2 to 3 mm. |
