PURPOSE:To improve the cut end form of a photographic support in a cutting process by covering polyethylene resin onto a web in which the ratio of a reinforcing agent to a sizing agent by oven-dry wt. has been specified. CONSTITUTION:The ratio of a reinforcing agent such as polyacrylamide to a sizing agent such as alkylketene dimer by oven-dry wt. contained in a web is adjusted to 1.8 or more. This web is then covered with polyethylene resin containing about 35-80wt% of low density polyethylene. The photographic support obtained by this method has high cuttability and forms little paper dust, and cutting chips become hard to stick to a print face. In addition, formation of whiskery pulp fiber and polyethylene resin is reduced. |
