PURPOSE:To shorten conveyance time and enable rapid recording, by providing a plurality of recording material moving passages in a rotary scanning circumferential region, supplying recording materials along the moving passages and performing recording on the materials by an ink drop forming head. CONSTITUTION:An ink drop making head 1 is so set that it can be rotated by a motor 2. A plurality of ink ejection orifices 61-64 are placed on the rotary disc of the ink head 1. Ink feed pipes 71-74 are connected to the orifices. The pipes communicate with an ink storage vessel not shown in Fig., through a pipe 8. Recording materials are set on a part of a drum-shaped moving passage by a feed means. The ink head 1 starts recording operation as a first recording material is supplied. During the recording operation, the supply of a second recording material to a different moving passage is started. When recording on the first material is finished and its discharge is started, an image is recorded on the second recording material. During the recording on the second material, a third recording material is supplied to the moving passage from which the first recording material is discharged. |
