PURPOSE:To readily start glow discharge of a laser device by a gas laser excitation by so connecting a rectifier thereto as to apply the sum of a discharge retaining voltage between an interval and a voltage for starting the discharge to the interval before the discharge is started at the interval. CONSTITUTION:A DC power supply 9 is set at 2-3kV, the voltage of a DC power supply 4 is raised. When the sum of both the voltages become approx. 6.2kV, a discharge is started to flow a current among anode 1-cathode 2-resistor 10-resistor 6. When the voltage of the power supply 4 is further raised, a current is flowed in a circuit of anode 1-cathode 2-resistor 10-resistor 5-diode 8, but no current is flowed from the trigger power supply 9. Since the cathode is commonly used for the trigger electrode, even if the discharge current flowing through the cathode is increased, the glow discharge is not transformed to the arc discharge and the discharge can be readily started. |
