PURPOSE:To rotatingly drive reels in an air-tight cassette housing, by fixing a disc type permanent magnet on one end, at least, of reels and applying the external magnetic field to the permanent magnet via the housing for drive, in reel drive of a cassette tape of optical type. CONSTITUTION:An optical head 20 which records/reproduces information on a tape 15 is provided at a front wall 10c of a cassette half along a straight line running section 15a of the tape. Conventional capstans and pinch rollers are not used to run the tape, that is, permanent magnets 30a, 30b attached to reels 12a, 12b can be turned without contact by permanent magnets 40a, 40b fitted to rotating shafts 50a, 50b. |
